The majority language spoken in Lakshadweep is Malayalam. Malayalam is a Dravidian language that is primarily spoken in the Indian state of Kerala, but it is also spoken in the neighboring Union Territory of Lakshadweep. In addition to Malayalam, some of the other languages spoken in Lakshadweep include Mahl (also known as Dhivehi), which is the official language of the Maldives, and Jeseri, which is a dialect of Malayalam spoken in some parts of Lakshadweep.
