Explanation
B: The penal code in force in the territory of Jammu & Kashmir is known as the Ranbir Penal Code.
The Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) is the criminal code in force in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was introduced by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1932 and is based on the Indian Penal Code (IPC) enacted by the British colonial government in 1860, with some modifications to suit the local conditions and needs of Jammu and Kashmir.
After the revocation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution in 2019, Jammu and Kashmir became a union territory of India, and the central government announced that the IPC would also be applicable in Jammu and Kashmir along with the RPC. However, the RPC remains in force in the state of Jammu and Kashmir until new legislation is introduced by the legislature of the union territory.
