The title of 'Vikramaditya' was assumed by Chandragupta-II, also known as Vikramaditya. Chandragupta-II was a ruler of the Gupta Empire in northern India, who reigned from 380 to 415 CE. He is considered one of the greatest rulers of ancient India, and his reign is often referred to as a Golden Age of Indian history. Chandragupta-II was known for his military conquests, patronage of the arts, and support for religious tolerance. He was also a patron of learning and is said to have invited scholars from all over the world to his court at Ujjain. The title of Vikramaditya was later assumed by several other Indian rulers, who sought to emulate Chandragupta-II's legendary achievements.
