Explanation
The southernmost part of India is Indira Point, which is located on Great Nicobar Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Indira Point is the southernmost point of India's territorial waters and lies at a latitude of 6° 45' 10" N. It is located approximately 150 km south of Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The area around Indira Point is known for its rich biodiversity and is home to a variety of plant and animal species, including the endemic Nicobar megapode and Nicobar tree shrew.
