Raja Ram Mohan Roy is considered the Father of the Indian Renaissance. He was a social reformer, thinker, and scholar who played a significant role in the social, cultural, and religious awakening of India during the 19th century. He founded the Brahmo Samaj, which was one of the first socio-religious reform movements in India. Raja Ram Mohan Roy worked towards the eradication of social evils like sati, caste discrimination, and purdah system. He also advocated for the modernization of Indian society through the spread of education, women's empowerment, and the promotion of scientific temper.
