The person who is known as the Martin Luther of India is Dayanand Saraswati. He was a renowned Indian philosopher, social reformer, and founder of the Arya Samaj, a Hindu reform movement.
Dayanand Saraswati was born in 1824 in Gujarat, India. He became a sanyasi (renunciate) at the age of 21 and spent several years traveling throughout India, studying the Vedas and other religious texts.
In 1875, he founded the Arya Samaj, which was dedicated to the promotion of Vedic knowledge and the reform of Hindu society. The movement sought to remove various social evils prevalent in Hindu society, such as caste system, child marriage, and discrimination against women.
Dayanand Saraswati is often compared to Martin Luther, the German theologian and religious reformer, who played a key role in the Protestant Reformation in Europe during the 16th century. Both men challenged the established religious institutions of their time and advocated for a return to the original teachings of their respective religions.
