Explanation
The section for Dowry Death is Section 304B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Section 304B of the IPC deals with the offense of dowry death. It states that if a woman dies within seven years of her marriage and it is shown that her death was a result of burns or bodily injury or occurred under suspicious circumstances, and there is evidence to establish that she was subjected to cruelty or harassment by her husband or his relatives in connection with demands for dowry, then it is considered a dowry death.
According to Section 304B, whoever commits the offense of dowry death shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than seven years but which may extend to imprisonment for life. The law recognizes dowry death as a serious crime and provides for stringent punishment to deter and punish those involved in causing the death of a woman due to dowry-related harassment or cruelty.
