Explanation
According to the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, "sexual harassment" is defined as follows:
A: Unwelcome physical contact and advances, or unwelcome sexually colored remarks.
The Act specifically addresses various forms of unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature, such as physical contact, advances, or making sexually colored remarks that create a hostile or intimidating work environment for the victim.
While trafficking, acid attacks, and child pornography are serious offenses and crimes, they are not specifically covered under the definition of sexual harassment as outlined in the Act. However, it is important to note that these offenses are dealt with under separate laws and legal provisions in India.
