Explanation
22 languages have been added to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India, which recognizes them as official languages of the country.
These languages are :
1. Assamese
2. Bengali
3. Gujarati
4. Hindi
5. Kannada
6. Kashmiri
7. Konkani
8. Malayalam
9. Manipuri (also known as Meitei or Meithei)
10. Marathi
11. Nepali
12. Odia (also known as Oriya)
13. Punjabi
14. Sanskrit
15. Santali
16. Sindhi
17. Tamil
18. Telugu
19. Urdu
20. Bodo
21. Santhali
22. Maithili
It's important to note that English is also an official language in India alongside the 22 languages mentioned above.
