India's first Aqua Mega Food Park was commissioned in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The Aqua Mega Food Park is a project initiated by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, to support the growth of the food processing industry in India. The project aims to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities for food processing and value addition to agricultural produce, with a focus on the seafood and aquaculture sector.
The first Aqua Mega Food Park in India was commissioned in Bhimavaram, in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh in October 2018. The park is spread over an area of 57 acres and is equipped with modern facilities for processing, packaging, and storage of seafood and other agro-based products. The park also includes a common facility center, a testing and training center, and a cold storage facility.
The Aqua Mega Food Park is expected to boost the growth of the seafood industry in Andhra Pradesh and provide employment opportunities to the local population.
